Victoria Day Weekend on the island

The May long weekend always boosts the island into activity, this weekend there are some great things to get you out and about on Gabriola.  On Saturday May 16th, the farmers market opens at 10am, an exciting time to meet local artisans, pick up your pie and stock up on bread and veggies (all local).  If you’re looking to get some inspiration for your garden, you’ll want to go to the Wheelbarrel Nursery’s customer appreciation (May 16&17th), among enjoying music and light refreshments you’ll have the opportunity to view the metal artwork created by Discovery Metal Creations, their fire pits are amazing.  If you want to help clean up the shores on Gabriola, the Lions are organizing a beach clean up on Sunday, May 17th at 10am in  Degnen bay.  After all the activities, you may want to treat yourself to a soft serve ice cream at the new convenience store at Twin Beaches, I know that this will be on my list!
